Vermont History Center

The Vermont History Center is the home of the Vermont Heritage Galleries, located in the beautiful historic Spaulding school building at 60 Washington Street in Barre.

Exhibits feature Civil War artifacts, like Vermont war flags and photographs taken of Vermont infantry. In the special exhibit “The Emergence of the Granite City: Barre 1880-1940,” the Vermont History Center details the development of Barre, its immigrant populations, and the rise of the granite industry.
